Apostles Fredrick & Tonya Powell
Fredrick J. Powell is the eldest of 4 children born to his mother Patricia Ann Powell and Fredrick Powell, Sr. of Conway, South Carolina. He was raised in the church until he was the age of 18 when he joined the United States Armed Forces.
Bishop served his country in the United States Army for 20 years with tours and duty stations throughout the world including, The United States of America, Germany, Honduras, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and more.
During this time he was a part of many ministries. Through each one, God allowed him to be close to the Pastor which prepared him for the calling that was on his life. Bishop has started many step teams, produced the 2008 Jesus Explosion, written many gospel plays, served as a drummer and keyboardist as well as the Minister of Music, an Ordained Minister teaching Sunday School as well as preaching the Word in in the absence of the Senior Pastors at various ministries.
In addition, he started Jesus Praise Records in 2009 and produced his first album, titled, “Life Part One, The Beginning Through Jesus Christ” which was a compilation of Christian artist and genres.
He married his beautiful God given wife and help meet, Tonya Powell on April 04, 2007 and together they share 11 beautifully gifted and talented children; Alicia, Nick, Jasmine, Freddy, Antonio, Kyana, TJ, Trinity, Olyvia, Ameryah and Josiah.
Upon his retirement from the Military in 2008, he and his wife, Pastor Tonya Powell planted A New Life Ministries and Foundation.
In September of 2009 at the request of his congregation and colleagues he was then appointed as Bishop-Elect by Lighthouse International Worldwide Ministries under the chief consecrator, Apostle Veronica Pollard of New Jersey.
In January 2014 he established New Life Kingdom Assembly of Churches International to which he is the Chief Presiding Bishop and has since birthed several spiritual sons, daughters and ministries.
In December 2019, Bishop was consecrated and affirmed to the Office of Bishop.
Executive Pastor, Author and Licensed Professional Counselor, Tonya Powell grew up a native of Pulaski County, Missouri. She is the eldest of 3 children raised by her parents Chris and Tammy Morrow of Waynesville, MO.
She has attended church services since she was a young girl and was first saved and baptized at First Baptist Church of Buckhorn about the age of 10. She rededicated her life to Christ at the age of 24 and was filled with the Holy Ghost at age 28. She was licensed and ordained as an Elder in September 2009 by Lighthouse International Worldwide Ministries of New Jersey.
She graduated from Laquey High school in 1998, then went on to achieve a triple bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sociology and Criminology from Drury University and then proceeded to achieve her master’s degree in Professional Mental Health Counseling from Webster University.
She has served her community with a special emphasis on Military Service Members and their families in multiple capacities for many years to include Victim Advocacy, SHARP, Prevention Specialist Trainer and Military Family Life Counselor.
Tonya also authors several books; including a collection of Youth Chapter books entitled “The Legend of the Little Warriors”, and a children’s book, “Buzz, the Bumble that Couldn’t Bee Still”. She is also currently in the process of completing the following adult books, “Pain from Behind the Pulpit”, “What to Expect When Expecting from God” and “Church, The Runaway Bride”.
